About Neckbeard Records

Neckbeard Records is not a normal record label. Based on a unique model that trades perennial profit-sharing for a sunk-cost benefit, Neckbeard artists are able to not only retain all creative ownership, but also to be free from long-term monetary entanglement much sooner than under the traditional model.

Neckbeard Records is a service provider, not an investor or an overseer. The aim of the label is to help bands reach a wider audience than they could on their own, at a reasonable cost. Additionally, Neckbeard Records believes in service and uses each project as a means to raise money for charitable organizations selected by the artists.

Neckbeard Records was founded by music fans. The business practices are modelled after long discussions with bands, label-folks and deep reflection on our own buying patterns. Neckbeard Records strives to release recordings in the form of keepsakes.

Neckbeard Records is a small step in a new direction. It is probably not what you’re used to. It is an idea and an experiment.

And we look forward to seeing the result.

Artists first. Fans second. Label last. As it should be.
